I had 2 dogs and worked 12 hrs. I always left them with tons of toys for the day and special treat filled kongs that they would only get when I am working. I also kept patio door open with disposable pee pee pads. They were very good but they did destroy all my patio plants so I had to get rid of the floor planters and get hanging basket plants.

That is a God awful schedule. I switch fairly regularly between nights and days and even that would fuck me up. With that said, melatonin works for me. Try to front load your sleep as much as you can so you’re not playing catch up entire week.

You get the chocolate candy, you get the chocolate candy. Everybody gets pizza party. Not night shift though! They don’t need it.

And oh..yeah we still have no PPE and shortage of other supplies too. Sorry!

I used to say “ I’m sorry for what you went through, but it’s over now and you will have no more pain. Today it is your turn, and tomorrow it will mine” just made me feel better I guess.

After the shift, especially if it was a hard one. Helped me sleep better, helped me to clear my head a bit and not bring any of the work related worries or frustrations home!

    When Do Nurses Lives Matter?

When it becomes more expensive to deal with strikes and walkouts than after getting a few nurses sick and dying than it does to have some extra masks and gowns.

Call your union representative. Or start a union. This is literally what they are there for.

Thanks for posting. Fun fact: your CEO is working for the money too. We’re all working for the money.

Your voice is one of thousands. Thanks fot adding to the cry for PPE. Heros my ass, sacrificial lsmbs to slaughter. Do not be a martyr.

My hospital announced they have enough PPE for 4 months. Worked a non covid floor last night and was assigned one yellow droplet mask to wear for 12 hours. Grossly soggy and totally useless by the end of the night.

We hear you. We need to keep demanding PPE

I would honestly be uncomfortable with all the cheering and things, cheering isn’t going to get the job done, especially when people turn around and still go out and do activities w/o social distancing. If anything, people who bought out all the PPE and such, if they support health providers, should give unopened things to providers.
