I’m a student nurse currently and work in phlebotomy but felt this would be an appropriate forum to post in. I am wondering if any of you are either planning on quitting after covid due to the injustices so many medical personnel are facing with PPE workloads etc. I am also wondering if you guys think that the hospitals after covid should spend a week or two not taking elective surgeries for staff in impacted areas to recover from the stress and trauma that covid-19 has placed on so many.
I’m not working by choice right now, but will vet my next employer very carefully. Also, I am seriously considering leaving bedside/direct patient care altogether.
I am not sure what my facility is planning on doing after all this but I will tell you that I am taking a very long vacation. If my hospital has a problem with it I will just find another job.
