This feels like such a rookie problem, but I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, but I’m having the WORST problem switching from night shift to day shift hours.
It’s 0245 right now, and Im having complete insomnia. I’ve done nights for years, then went to days, but it’s always been one or the other, never days of each throughout the week. My schedules been completely destroyed because of this COVID mess.
I’ll do two days of night shift, then a free day (to sleep basically) then be back on days for one shift, then have to shift back to nights for two more days.
Anyone have any suggestions other than sleeping pills? This is just surreal to me because I never have issues sleeping. My husband makes fun of me because I’m usually asleep in two minutes of putting my head on the pillow.
That is a God awful schedule. I switch fairly regularly between nights and days and even that would fuck me up. With that said, melatonin works for me. Try to front load your sleep as much as you can so you’re not playing catch up entire week.
