Bio
Melanie Jade Boulerice has been a practicing registered nurse for 7 years in the emergency room & psychiatry. Graduated from John Abbott College in 2013, where afterwards, she jumped right into the shark tank of the emergency room. She later began her BScN degree at St. Francis Xavier University that she had successfully completed in 2019.
During her first years of practice, the lack of resources for nurses and patients sparked an inspiration to create new resources and clarify the existing. She developed a program where nursing students who are in preparation for the Quebec licensing exam (OIIQ/OIIAQ) can have a resource for study tools, tutoring and mentorship for the health care field. She is now a teacher for the OIIQ exam workshops through John Abbott College.
Since then, Melanie grew to understand the health care system and the needs of the people that she interacts with during care. She opened a business in mobile nursing services, student nurse mentorship program and an emergency nurse event service called Nomadic Nurse Agency. This way health care is accessible and resources are taught to be utilized accordingly. She balances this all with working in the busy emergency room at Montreal’s Trauma #1 center and is honored to have been taught by amazing nurses throughout her years.
Thoughts on the platform
The platform is an excellent resource for nurses to connect on a global scale to discuss current issues including COVID-19. It’s a great platform to connect and share ideas, express feelings without scrutiny and spread the knowledge and positivity.
